FTAAA's Merentas Desa for Adults
I was wondering when this would hit me, and this morning, it hit me. There I was, standing with friends in the kandang in a Junior Veteran's category. I have to laugh at this - in fact I did for a little while driving to Kiara. Sure it is not a big deal as coming to it is inevitable, but I was also thankful not being among the super strong runners. But beware - friends in this category are also very the powerful, one...
There we were - myself, Ian, Kash, Det, Yim, Fong, Doris in the kandang. Kash overslept and came in without her bibs. Lucky for her, Ian puled Dr. Zana's bib from his sleeves, and voila! it's Dr. Kash - the running OBGYN... We started quite late, the second after the Men's Open, going through the lake before disappearing into the trails.
I have thoroughly missed those trails, but nowadays finds really hard to go there as weekends are full of LSDs and swims etc. Regardless, the trails did not disappoint, and turned out to be punishing. The uphills were really mind-boggling, and most of the time we were trailing the slower runners in many tight spots.
These trails are like the Monte Carlo GP, and taking over is usually not possible unless you push them away. But, going at it, most of them slows down and gave way. We climbed to the peak, and sprinted downhills. It was the second set of uphills that I slowed down, and fell of the "Yim's Bandwagon" as I was pacing right behind him earlier. He sped off, and I was left with a bunch who finished the race seconds apart.
All in all, I finished in 54:23, no. 22, and Ian came in seconds later. We caught up with friends, warmed down, stretched etc. We later found out that Dr. Kash finished No. 1 in her category! Berdentum-dentam halilintar... Congrats, Kash... You earned it! Bangga lah ada member naik podium, and this is just a month shy after Diket won 3rd placing in a race. Dasyat deme-deme nih. Kash, I'll drink few rounds of Milo to you today! hahaha
Anyway, it was a good, quick Sunday workout, no fuss. Left the ground zero early as I promised Iris for a swim, which later left me alone after she befriended Maisarah at the pool. So I was left to making laps on my own. And swimming after hard poundings is bloody delicious!
All is well for a 3-day holiday. Thanks to Malaysia and it's obsession to many cuti umums, I hope the next break will come soon. Now is the time to get lost in report, as Part 3 registration closes tomorrow. Yumm! Have a great week ahead!

Congrats to all!
The part about "Junior Veteran" is a bit amusing. How can one be both at the same time? :P
And there's no Monte Carlo GP I think. It's the Monaco GP in Monte Carlo. Or is it vice-versa? Oh my, I'm confused.
I believe now is the harvest time for u guys(there will a lot more after this)after all the hours and miles spent on the tracks, roads, hills and trails.
Way to go bro and i could only try to be there in time (based on current performance, lama lagik tu..hehehe)
Mech - hahah, umur makin tua, hati tetap muda :D, and you are right - Monaco GP in Monte Carlo... wish we could run that fast hahah. congrats on your new PB!
ziff - I was not there to watch, but I figure the feeling, especially with her 2 kids watching, is priceless! No. 1 tu... err harvest time for her, not mine yet hehehe. hope you had a great weekend too!
Eh syah, what bandwagon lah. REO Speedwagon adalah :)
Yim - once the trail bites... we need to call che soon!
bila che nak buat trail lagi huh?
hey.. talking bout me on my..err, back :P oh well, im waiting for you guys ler. when? where? tp x best lah batu dam. < dont that place gives u a creep? somewhere else? <im crossbloggin' :P
lepas ENR ek? we got whole April to do it (less event that time kan?)
podium finish is something to talk bout, even after the race has long finished. bila lah nak merasa.. :P
hahaha che, kitorang tak ngumpat, saja cucuksaja... march is full of towerthon, ENR etc. april mesti mau lari trail balik - we have bukit apek to konker. batu dam was ok for me, tapi kurang cabaran daa, and the road part at the end was a bit of a turn off. tapi dekat dengan rumah - but time to try new trails.
my events for april are tukar diapers, buat susu, jadi chaffeur for tukang urut etc haha. tapi trail immediately lepas ENR, sort of a recovery, and bet semua orang will be tired of road running by that week, kan?
im on. Bukit Apek everyone? Just re-up the earlier posting, and we are good to go. I'll re-up end of March lah.
Bukit Apek bila? nx week recce as per your entry, Bukit Apek lepas ENR jugak?
