Chasing the Rain Cloud!
Awesome, awesome day!
It was an LSD worth more than thousands of words. Unlike race reports, LSD runs usually have little to say, and this one is no difference, except that we had it real good.
The Geng Kaki Lambung were at it again attempting a 30k from Kiara - Bukit Aman - Petronas Hartamas - Kiara. Notwithstanding the Sundown Marathon is 7-days to go, this was a new form of training where no taper is required. Truth is, we all looked at Sundown as another LSD towards SCKLM'10. Ambitious? Very. Whatever for the bragging rights :D.
We rolled out easy, and maintained the peloton intact most of the the time. The overcast sky 85% of the LSD with occasional breaking wind was heavenly, and the rain at the end was amazing! The pace was superb, in karipap-eating speed. The lambung? Stomach-cramping and jaws-locking...
I slowed down a little after the KLGCC as a cramp was building up on the left calf, but gained speed to finish strong with the King and other Mamak Bendaharas.
If that was not glorious enough, try imagine eating freshly cut watermelons under the rain with the leftover Gatorades. And a cool shower by the bike splash, and off we went smelling fresh.
To top it off, the aqiqah at Zaki's house in Bukit Subang, with lots of delicious food and sweets. Great carbo and protein reloads with chicken and karipaps overdrive.
Karipap lost yesterday, big time! Next week will be rather slow, running wise, but will be a carbo-loading feast and electrolytes gobbling. Hope you guys have a had a great weekend!
